Our attention has been drawn to a statement credited to a group parading itself as Kwara Rebuilders, but more appropriately addressed as Kwara APC Rebuilders, an association of political jobbers led by the SSA Communication to the Kwara State Governor, Ibrahim Abdulateef, former CPS and a host of others who have turned the APC political group into a cash out channels at all election period.
It is important to state clearly that a serious candidate desirous of leading a state must have a manifesto, a document where the electorate will listen to him, assess his antecedents and track records in both public and private life. That is exactly what the gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Engr. Kale Kawu, will be putting before Kwarans in the coming days with his ‘My Covenant with Kwara’ manifesto.
It is, however, not surprising that the jobless APC political group is comparing Engr. Kawu’s manifesto to that of the Lagos APC gubernatorial candidate. Unlike the present Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, who came into office without a genuine manifesto, a situation that has led to the total collapse of governance in Kwara State, his anointed pushover gubernatorial candidate of the APC, Salihu Yakubu Danladi, also lacks a clear path to good governance.
That is why the political group led by government emissaries has begun to tell Kwarans not to demand to know what a candidate seeking office intends to use to govern them.
Engr. Kale Kawu remains focused on presenting a clear, people-driven blueprint for the rebuilding of Kwara State, and no amount of sponsored blackmail by APC’s political jobbers will distract him.
