Nigeria’s U-17 women’s national team head coach, Akeem Busari, has urged his players to remain focused and complete their historic journey by defeating Japan in the final of the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.
The Flamingos will face Japan today at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Morocco, aiming to become the first African team to win the tournament.
Nigeria have already made history by becoming the first African country to reach the final of the competition. However, Busari insists that the team must not lose focus, stressing that their job is not yet complete.
Japan secured their place in the final after defeating North Korea in a penalty shootout.
Speaking during his pre-match interview, Busari urged his players to remain concentrated and put the finishing touches to their impressive campaign.
“It is just for us to concentrate, let’s put the icing on the cake,” he said.
“Let’s be focused and let’s finish the job because the job is not yet done.”
