North Central BOT Member, Engr. Nurudeen Visits FCE Keana, College of Agriculture, Science & Technology, Lafia

As part of his ongoing familiarisation tour of institutions within the North Central geopolitical zone, Engr. Nurudeen Adeyemi, Board Member representing the zone on the Board of theTertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), paid a working visit to the Federal College of Education (Technical), Keana, and the College of Agriculture, Science and Technology, Lafia, Nasarawa State.

At FCE (Technical) Keana, Engr. Nurudeen lauded the resilience and dedication of the institution’s management. He noted that the leadership team is passionate and committed to the institution’s growth and development. He further advocated for deeper collaboration between the institution, the National Assembly, and the Federal Ministry of Education to accelerate educational and infrastructural development.

The Provost of the College, Dr. Yusuf Abdullahi, expressed appreciation for the visit, describing it as timely and strategic. He emphasized that the BOT member’s presence and direct assessment of the college’s progress are encouraging and reassuring.

Engr. Nurudeen also acknowledged the Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa for his steadfast leadership and visionary policies guiding the education sector. He praised the TETFund Board and Management, led by Rt. Hon. Aminu Bello Masari and Executive Secretary, Arc. Sonny Echono, for their commitment to ensuring that Nigeria’s education sector reaches new heights through strategic interventions.

During his visit to the College of Agriculture, Science and Technology, Lafia, Engr. Nurudeen called for innovation in agricultural education. He advocated for a shift from conventional poultry farming to herpetoculture. According to him, integrating herpetoculture into agricultural curricula and practices could expand research opportunities, boost leather production, support antivenom development, and open commercial pathways beyond food consumption.

In response, the Provost of the College, Dr. Musa Maikafi, highlighted the institution’s success in accessing virtually all TETFund intervention lines. He noted that the college is diligently working to complete its ongoing projects. Dr. Maikafi extended appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Rt. Hon. Aminu Masari, Arc. Sonny Echono, and Engr. Nurudeen Adeyemi for their unwavering support towards the institution’s advancement.
