The Deputy Senate Leader and Senator representing Kwara South Senatorial District, Arc. Lola Ashiru, has joined Nigerians, Kwarans, family, political and business associates to mourn the the passing of Otunba Abdulganiyu “Ganzy” Zubairu.
He stated that his death is a painful blow to Kwara’s political and social community.
Otunba Ganzy, a respected chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State and a member of the Governing Council of the Federal Polytechnic, Offa, was widely regarded as one of the quiet pillars behind the political reawakening in the state.
Senator Ashiru said the late political figure embodied loyalty, maturity, and rare commitment to the growth of Kwara South and the State at large.
He noted that Otunba Gamzy was one of the few young leaders whose influence was felt not through noise but through strategic counsel, community engagement, and unyielding support for developmental causes.
The lawmaker further described him as a grassroots mobiliser whose political experience, firmness, and humility made him a trusted confidant to many within the APC family.
He added that Ganzy’s contributions to the Federal Polytechnic, Offa—where he served on the Governing Council—reflected his passion for education and youth empowerment.
Ashiru said the vacuum created by his passing would be difficult to fill.
He extended condolences to the Zubairu family, political associates and the APC community, praying for strength and comfort for everyone affected by the loss.
