Senator Kalu Receives Ambassador-Designate Ugwuanyi, Discusses Strengthening National Progress

Former Abia State Governor and Senator representing Abia North Senatorial district, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu on Thursday night hosted his counterpart and former Enugu State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Ambassador-Designate), at his Abuja residence.

The meeting according to the lawmaker provided the dou valuable opportunity to engaged in discussions centred on strengthening partnerships for national progress.

Senator Kalu, who disclosed this development in a terse statement via his official social media handle, described the exchange as warm, constructive, and focused on key strategies for advancing the service of the country.

The statement obtained by 9japarrot media reads;

“Our discussion was warm, constructive, and focused on strengthening partnerships for national progress. I appreciate his visit and look forward to continued collaboration in the service of our country,” Senator Kalu stated.

9japarrot media reports that the meeting between the two prominent leaders from the South East comes at a critical time in Nigeria’s political landscape, particularly following Ugwuanyi’s nomination as a non-career Ambassador by President Bola Tinubu, a nomination currently awaiting confirmation by the Senate.

Both Senator Kalu and Ambassador-Designate Ugwuanyi are known for maintaining a strong, bipartisan relationship, often emphasizing the necessity of putting national and regional interests above strict political party differences.

Their continued collaboration is a confirmation to the growing focus among Nigeria’s political elite to transcend partisan lines to achieve development goals.
