Professor Nusirat Elelu, a prominent academic, grassroots health sector advocate, and the first female Professor of Public Health and Preventive Medicine at the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN), has pledged her full backing to “Team Elelu,” a youth sports group named after for the forthcoming Play With Kwara Youth (PWKY) 5.0 program.
A five-member delegation from Team Elelu met with their coach and sponsor, Prof. Elelu, on Tuesday at her office in Fate, Ilorin, to introduce the sports initiative and present their official proposal.
The delegation, led by Olufadi, made the introductory presentation which included details about the sports program, the attendees, and the team’s proposal for support.
Prof. Elelu, who is the Executive Secretary of the Kwara State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, expressed happiness and excitement upon seeing the team delegates.
She assured the team of her readiness to support the proposal, pledged her availability on the main day of the event, and promised to attend at least one of their training days.
Similarly, she encouraged the team to aim for victory and mobilized them with basic start-up needs for their immediate success.
On their part, the team delegates appreciated Prof. Elelu’s generous gestures, pledged their commitment to success and victory, and promised to be good ambassadors of Team Elelu in the forthcoming PWKY 5th Edition competition.
