Oloota of Odo-Owa Confers ‘Gbadero’ Title on Dr Kazeem Olayimika Salaam Alabaja

The ancient town of Odo-Owa in Oke-Ero Local Government Area of Kwara State was the scene of traditional celebration and political declarations on Saturday as Oloota of Odo-Owa, His Royal Highness, Oba Joshua Adeyemi Adimula, the Oluwanran Aniyeloye II, conferred the prestigious chieftaincy title of Gbadero of Odo-Owa on renowned medical professional and All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwart, Dr. Kazeem Olayimika Salaam Alabaja.

The installation was a highlight of activities marking the monarch’s 10th coronation anniversary, an event which drew traditional rulers, members of the traditional council, chiefs, and dignitaries, including representatives of the Kwara State Governor and Oke-Ero LGA Chairman.

During the ceremony, Oba Joshua Adeyemi Adimula commended Dr. Kazeem Olayimika Salaam Alabaja for his outstanding achievements and community focused nature, which made him a deserving recipient of the high ranking traditional title.

Oloota highlighted Dr. Alabaja’s dedication to humanity through his medical profession and his consistent support for the community.

The monarch urged the new Gbadero to see the title as a call to higher service, not just to Odo-Owa but to the entire Kwara South Senatorial District.

Dr. Alabaja, during his remarks seized the occasion to express his profound gratitude to the monarch for finding him worthy of the honour.

In his address, the Omu-Aran born professional made a strong case for the upgrade of the Oloota’s stool to a first-class monarch, arguing that Odo-Owa, as an ancient town with notable communities under it, possesses all the requisites for such elevation.

Members of the “Alabaja Team” were visibly present, turning up in large numbers to show solidarity for their principal.



Speaking on his political ambition, Dr. Alabaja expressed confidence in securing the ticket of the ruling APC to represent Kwara South in the Senate come 2027.

“My hope and strength are my people, and you can tell that they’re strongly with me seeing the level of their presence here today just to show me solidarity. We’re ready to change the political narratives in Kwara state and I’m confident 2027 would be realistic,” he said.

He also seized the opportunity to caution his supporters against derailment and the habit of betrayal, urging them to remain focused on the group’s mandate.

Dignitaries present at the event included; Kwara State Governor represented by Oke-Ero LG Chairman, Chief Raheem Adedoyin, the Oloriewe of Oro Kingdom, traditional rulers, and notable stakeholders from across Kwara South.
