
The unwavering commitment of Senator Sadiq Suleiman Umar (3SU) to youth development and capacity building in Kwara State continues to find expression through the ongoing Mentorship and Leadership Fellowship Program for Kwara Youth, a flagship initiative designed to nurture a new generation of value-driven leaders which has been on for the last 3 months.
The Maiden Edition of the program, which has progressed into its Fellowship Phase, is currently engaging selected youths from all 16 Local Government Areas of Kwara State in an intensive, one-month mentorship and leadership development experience. During this period, Fellows are being paired with accomplished industry experts, innovators, and seasoned leaders who are equipping them with practical leadership skills, ethical values, collaborative capacity, and problem-solving competencies.
As the Fellowship progresses towards its conclusion in the coming weeks, the program is set to graduate its first cohort of purpose-driven young leaders individuals strategically prepared to design and implement local, innovative, and sustainable solutions that will contribute meaningfully to the advancement of a modern, inclusive, and prosperous Kwara State.
Senator Sadiq has reiterated that youth empowerment remains central to his legislative and developmental vision, stressing that meaningful development is impossible without deliberate investment in the capacity of young people. According to him, the 3SU Mentorship and Leadership Program is not a one-off intervention, but a long-term commitment to building human capital, strengthening civic responsibility, and fostering leadership excellence among Kwara youths.
The Senator further noted that the initiative is designed to complement the people-oriented and youth-focused policies of His Excellency, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, whose administration has consistently prioritized youth inclusion, innovation, and skills development across Kwara State.
In addition, Senator Sadiq emphasized that the Fellowship aligns seamlessly with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, particularly its emphasis on youth empowerment, leadership development, and the creation of opportunities that enable young Nigerians to contribute effectively to national growth and transformation.
“The future of Kwara State lies in the hands of prepared, principled, and empowered young people,” Senator Sadiq stated. “Through this Fellowship, we are intentionally grooming youths who possess not just skills, but the values, vision, and commitment required to build solutions for their communities and the state at large.”
