The Executive Secretary/CEO of the National Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA), Engr. Cornelius Oluwasegun Adebayo, has hailed the elder statesman, Chief Adebisi Abdulkareem Akande as a shining example of incorruptibility and a Rock of Gibraltar for Nigerian democracy on the occasion of his 87th Birthday Anniversary.
Speaking on behalf of the Adebayo family, who shared a filial bond with Chief Akande spanning over four decades,Engr. Adebayo in a statement made available to 9japarrot media on Friday emphasized that the former Governor’s life remains a gold standard for public service in Africa.
The statement reads;
On this auspicious day, I am most delighted to pay richly deserved tributes to our amiable father, leader and mentor, Chief Adebisi Abdulkareem Akande, on the occasion of his 87th birthday.
On behalf of the Adebayo Family, friends, political associates, well-meaning Nigerians and progressives across the length and breath of the country, I wish to extend hearty felicitations to Baba Akande on his birthday today.
For over four decades, Baba Akande has distinguished himself as an epitome of integrity, a shining example of incorruptibility and a proven leader of people and resources.
It gives me immense joy that the Adebayo family and Baba Akande both share a filial and close bond, which has endured for over 40 years and afforded me the rare privilege to know him up-close as a warm, kind-hearted and affectionate man, whose passion for Nigeria and love for the downtrodden has endeared him to Nigerians across ethnic, religious and political divides.
Here is a man, whose untainted public service remains a reference point in Nigeria’s political trajectory, first as the Secretary to the Government and Deputy Governor of the old Oyo State in the Second Republic, Executive Governor of Osun State and the first National Chairman of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Here is a man, who laid the foundation for the birth of a progressive government in 2015 and has continued to deploy his prodigious intellect in advancing the cause of democracy.
Here is also a man, who has stood as a Rock of Gibraltar beside and behind our Leader and President, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu (GCFR) through thick and thin.
On his 87th Birthday, I wish Baba many more years of happiness, sound health and service to the people and our nation.
