
Multimedia expert and former General Manager of Kwara Television, Oyeyiola Olatunde Michaels, popularly known as OOLAT, has officially commenced a seven-local government senatorial stakeholder and party consultation tour to declare his intention to contest for the Kwara South Senatorial seat in 2027.
The tour, which began earlier this week is designed to engage grassroots leaders, party faithful, and community stakeholders within the All Progressives Congress (APC) to build a consensus ahead of the 2027 general elections.
9japarrot media reports that the campaign kicked off with high-profile visits to his home community in Irepodun (Omu-Aran) and the neighboring Oyun Local Government (Erin-Ile).





OOLAT during the engagement expressed profound gratitude for the endorsements and the enthusiastic turnout of supporters, which he described as a sign of collective desire for a “new era” of representation.
“My team and I sincerely appreciate the warm reception, cooperation, and endorsements from my Irepodun community and Oyun Local Government. This journey started in the interest of our people, and by God’s grace, it will come to fruition.” He said.
A seasoned professional in the multimedia and communications industry, Olatunde Michaels brings a mix of technocratic experience and political savvy to the race.
He’s a renowned multimedia guru and former General Manager of Kwara TV, where he was credited with driving digital reforms.
With a deep roots in the Oro Kingdom of Irepodun LGA his campaign is centered on effective representation and ensuring that the interests of Kwara South are robustly protected at the National Assembly.
The stakeholder tour is expected to move through the remaining local governments in the senatorial district, including Isin, Oke-Ero, Ekiti, Ifelodun, and Offa.
The OOLAT campaign team has emphasized that these consultations are people-centric, focusing on listening to the needs of the constituents before the formal campaign season begins.
