Agbeku Community Reaffirms Support for Gov AbdulRazaq’s Administration, Clarifies Viral Video

The APC Stakeholders Agbeku in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State have clarified the intent behind a viral video circulating on social media, stressing that it should not be misconstrued as a slight against the present administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq.

Speaking during a condolence visit by a delegation linked to former Governor of Kwara State and former Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, the Oba of Agbeku Kingdom alluded to the antecedents and assistance of the Former Governor to Agbeku during his tenure.

The monarch made the remarks while receiving the delegation led by Reverend C.O.S. Fawenu.

However, in a statement jointly issued by key stakeholders of the Agbeku community, the people firmly dismissed insinuations that the comments undermined the achievements of the current administration led by His Excellency, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq, CON.

The statement emphasized that Governor AbdulRasaq has demonstrated uncommon commitment to grassroots development across Kwara State, noting in particular that his administration upgraded the Agbeku monarch from a Third Class to a Second Class traditional ruler, a recognition described as historic and deeply appreciated by the community.

Meanwhile we in the APC who were in the Palace during the visit want members of the Public to note that the Video released by the
PDP bloggers was deliberately doctored to cut of the parts where the Oba of Agbeku paid glowing tributes to His Excellency ,Governor AbdulRazaq in order to make polical capital out of a Condolence Visit.

The statement recalled that the Agbeku kingship stool was first elevated to a Third Class status during the administration of late Governor Muhammed Lawal, before being downgraded to a no-class status by a subsequent government. It added that former Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed later restored the stool to Third Class, until the recent approval by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq elevating it to Second Class.

Agbeku community reaffirmed its gratitude to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq for his inclusive leadership, infrastructural development, and sustained support for traditional institutions, while pledging unwavering loyalty and total support for the continued success of his administration in delivering dividends of democracy to all parts of the state.

Mallam Usman Abdulrasheed
