
A prominent real estate entrepreneur, Hon. Gbenga Adeleke Emmanuel, has formally declared his interest and submitted his letter of intent to the party’s leadership to run for the Kwara South Senatorial seat comes 2027.
Accompanied by a high level delegation of supporters and political heavyweights on Friday, the aspirant was received at the APC State Secretariat in Ilorin by the State Working Committee (SWC), led by the State Chairman, Prince Sunday Fagbemi.

The declaration was marked by the presence of key party influencers, including the APC National Ex-Officio Member representing the North Central Zone, Chief Dr. (Mrs.) Oluwatoyin Bunmi Opawoye and the former Deputy Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Hon. Raphael Olalekan Adetiba. Their presence was seen by many as a significant nod to the aspirant’s standing within the party hierarchy.


Addressing the state executives, Hon. Gbenga Adeleke Emmanuel emphasized that his foray into the senatorial race is driven by a desire to bring professional excellence and corporate discipline to legislative governance.

He noted that Kwara South requires a vibrant and proactive voice at the National Assembly to attract federal infrastructure, empower the youth, and bolster the economic potential of the district’s agrarian and commercial sectors.
In his remarks, the State Chairman, Prince Sunday Fagbemi, commended Hon. Adeleke for his loyalty to the party and for adhering to the formal protocols of the APC by engaging the State Working Committee.

Fagbemi reiterated the party’s commitment to providing a level playing field for all aspirants, noting that the Renewed Hope era in Kwara APC is built on inclusivity and merit.
