Kwara Central Youths under the aegis of Kwara Central Youths for Professor Wale Sulaiman has formally declared its support for the gubernatorial ambition of Prof. Wale Sulaiman, CON, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The group also threw its weight behind the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, citing the need for continuity and the actualisation of the ‘Renewed Hope’ agenda at the national level.
In a statement signed by the Kwara Central Coordinator and Secretary of the group, Hamzat Agboola Abdullahi, the youths described Sulaiman as a visionary leader whose entrance into the race signals a new era of transformative governance for the state.
The group appealed to the leadership of the All Progressives Congress to prioritize competence and global relevance when selecting the party’s flagbearer.
According to the statement obtained by 9japarrot media, Sulaiman’s track record in healthcare, education, and community development sets him apart as a candidate capable of building on the foundation laid by the incumbent governor, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, CON.
“As our great party, the APC, prepares to choose its gubernatorial flagbearer, we respectfully appeal to party leaders and stakeholders to prioritize competence and proven track records of excellence,” the statement read in part.
In a move that highlights a shift toward meritocracy over regional sentiments, the Kwara Central youths noted that their decision to back an aspirant from Kwara South was a deliberate act to foster unity and fairness within the state.
“Our decision to support a candidate from another region highlights our commitment to unity and collective progress. We have seen the capacity in Professor Wale Sulaiman’s ‘Kwara Prosperity Manifesto’ and his vision for the people,” Abdullahi stated.
The group further lauded Sulaiman’s selfless service to humanity, particularly his consistent efforts in youth empowerment and rural development. They maintained that his leadership style, characterized by integrity and compassion, makes him the ideal successor to drive sustainable progress in the state.
The youths concluded by urging all Kwarans to embrace the continued legacy of transformational development by supporting the Tinubu-Sulaiman synergy in the forthcoming polls.
