Following his decisive victory at the just-concluded All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primary election, the lawmaker representing Abia North, Senator (Dr.) Orji Uzor Kalu has extended his profound appreciation to party faithful, delegates, and stakeholders across the district for their unwavering support.

Kalu, a former Governor of Abia State, secured a landslide win over his challenger, Hon. Philip Nto, clearing the polls with commanding numbers across all five local government areas of the senatorial zone.

Reacting to his declaration as the party’s flagbearer, Kalu described the overwhelming endorsement as a humbling validation of his stewardship and a clear sign of the enduring trust the constituency places in his leadership.

He emphasized that the triumph was not an individual achievement but a collective milestone for the entire progressive fold in Abia North.

“I sincerely thank the delegates, party leaders, supporters, and the good people of Abia North for standing with me and believing in our shared vision,” Senator Kalu said.

“This victory belongs to all of us. The massive support received across the district will further strengthen my resolve to continue delivering quality representation and robust democratic dividends to our people.” He added.

Reports from the designated collation centers indicated that Kalu swept the delegates’ votes across Ohafia, Arochukwu, Bende, Isikwuato, and Umunneochi Local Government Areas, reflecting a deeply entrenched grassroots network.

Party observers noted that the transparent and orderly nature of the primary exercise has reinforced internal democracy within the state chapter of the APC.

While thanking his campaign team and volunteers for their tireless efforts, the high-ranking lawmaker reaffirmed his commitment to driving infrastructural development, legislative advocacy, and economic empowerment across the district.

As the party shifts its focus toward upcoming general political engagements, Kalu called on all aspirants, party structures, and loyalists to remain tightly united, noting that a cohesive front is necessary to sustain the progress already achieved in Abia North.
