Disregard Fictitious Results, We Are in Clear Lead for Irepodun/Isin/Ekiti/Oke-Ero Reps Seat, Says Chief Segun Olaoye’s Camp

Ahead of the official declaration of results by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), the campaign organization of Chief Segun Olaoye (The Babalaje of Oro Kingdom) has urged the general public and party faithful to completely disregard unverified election figures being circulated on social media by rival camps.

In a statement released on Monday and made available to 9japarrot, the media directorate of Team Babalaje described the viral results as misleading, illegal, and a desperate attempt by certain aspirants to manipulate public perception following Saturday’s House of Representatives primary election for the Ekiti/Oke-Ero/Irepodun/Isin Federal Constituency.

The campaign organization expressed absolute confidence in clinching the party’s ticket, revealing that authentic data collated by its polling agents across the federal constituency placed Chief Olaoye in a comfortable and decisive lead.

According to the group, the frontline aspirant recorded a landslide victory with a very wide margin in Irepodun Local Government Area which serves as his immediate political base. The statement added that the camp also secured substantial, high-volume votes across the remaining three council areas Ekiti, Oke-Ero, and Isin, positioning him as the choice of the grassroots.

“Verified reports from our polling agents across the federal constituency show an overwhelmingly positive outcome for Chief Segun Olaoye,” the statement noted.

“Our principal has comfortably won Irepodun Local Government Area with a landslide, effectively positioning him as the candidate to beat.” they added.

While acknowledging the anxiety surrounding the collation process, Team Babalaje appealed to its supporters, youth groups, and market women across the four local government areas to maintain the peace and avoid overheating the polity.

The group reminded party members that the statutory authority to verify results and officially declare a standard-bearer rests solely with the designated Electoral Committee of the APC National Working Committee (NWC).

9japarrot reports that the intervention comes amidst a wave of petitions and protests from various legislative camps in Kwara State, with groups like the Ekiti LGA Elders and the Concerned APC Youths Vanguard already demanding strict compliance with electoral guidelines.

In conclusion, Team Babalaje urged its followers and loyal supporters to remain patient, steadfast, and await the final administrative updates from the state and national leadership of the party.
