British Deputy Chief of the Defence Staff, Lt-Gen Charlie Collins, has arrived in Maiduguri, Borno State, for high-level discussions with Nigerian military officials aimed at strengthening defence cooperation between the two countries.
The visit centres on enhancing military collaboration and supporting Nigeria’s ongoing security operations. During his stay, Collins is expected to meet officers of the Nigerian Army and observe joint defence activities involving British and Nigerian forces.
His visit underscores the growing defence partnership between Nigeria and the United Kingdom, particularly in the areas of intelligence sharing, counter-terrorism, military training and operational support.
The engagements are also expected to advance talks on defence strategy, capacity building and long-term security cooperation between both nations.
