Dr Betta Edu, a member of the APC Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) Women Mobilisation Directorate, has said the landmark projects commissioned by President Bola Tinubu in Akwa Ibom State will strengthen grassroots support and improve the party’s chances in the 2027 general elections.
Edu said the projects would boost the electoral fortunes of President Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Governor Umo Eno and other APC candidates in the state.
She made this known during a town hall and empowerment meeting organised by members of the APC PCC Women Mobilisation Directorate with Akwa Ibom Deputy Governor, Senator Akon Eyakenyi, and women across the state. The delegation also visited hospitals to offer support to patients.

Edu, who commended Governor Eno for his commitment to infrastructure development, economic growth and inclusive governance, said the projects would create significant economic opportunities for women, farmers, traders and small-scale business owners.
President Tinubu commissioned several projects executed by the Eno-led administration in Akwa Ibom State on Friday, November 6, 2026.
According to Edu, the Ibom Aviation Village, ARISE Palm Resort, road infrastructure and other investments would stimulate economic activities, improve transportation, promote tourism, strengthen healthcare delivery and create sustainable livelihoods.

She explained that the Ibom Aviation Village and ARISE Palm Resort would open up business opportunities in aviation, hospitality, tourism, catering, transportation and retail trade, particularly for women entrepreneurs.
The APC chieftain also highlighted the importance of the Airport-Okopedi Road and Ring Road 3, noting that the projects would improve rural connectivity and make it easier for farmers to transport their produce to markets.
She said improved road networks would reduce transportation costs, minimise post-harvest losses and increase the earnings of women farmers who often struggle to access urban markets due to poor road conditions.
Edu added that the roads would also improve access to healthcare facilities, schools, markets and other essential services for families in rural communities.
She further commended Governor Eno for the International Airport Hospital, describing it as a major healthcare investment that would improve access to medical services, particularly for women, children and vulnerable groups.
Edu also praised President Tinubu for supporting state governments through collaboration, saying the partnership between the Federal Government and Akwa Ibom State had facilitated the delivery of critical infrastructure.
She noted that the projects aligned with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Tinubu administration, which focuses on infrastructure development, economic growth, job creation and improved living standards.
The former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs urged relevant stakeholders to ensure that women-owned businesses, farmers, entrepreneurs and skilled workers benefited from the economic opportunities created by the projects.
Edu expressed confidence that the impact of the projects on livelihoods, business opportunities and rural development would strengthen the APC’s grassroots support and translate into electoral victories in the 2027 elections.
She added that Akwa Ibom State’s pledge to deliver two million votes for President Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election was achievable, given the growing impact of development projects and sustained grassroots mobilisation.
