The Kwara State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has called on all members and aggrieved stakeholders to embrace internal party reconciliation, following the formal ratification and presentation of executive nomination forms to the party’s standard-bearers for the 2027 general elections.

The ruling party made the call on Tuesday at the APC State Secretariat in Ilorin, where the party leadership officially handed over the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) governorship nomination form to the Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Salihu Yakubu Danladi, formalizing his status as the authentic gubernatorial candidate.
Speaking during the presentation, the Kwara APC State Chairman, Prince Sunday Fagbemi, explained that the event marked the successful conclusion of all internal democratic mechanisms, noting that the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) had fully ratified the primary election results after a thorough review of the reports submitted by the internal Appeal Committee.

“The National had gone through all processes; those people that had complaints out of the families have ventilated their complaints to the Appeal Committee. The Appeal Committee had sat over all complaints. They came out with their results, which has been ratified by the National Working Committee of the Party. So it is the National Working Committee of the Party that have come out with candidates for the 2027 election, and we have informed those people that were on the list. It befalls us to give them the forms to fill that will be uploaded to the INEC portal,” Fagbemi stated.

Flanked by the State Deputy Chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Sanmari, the party chairman presented the statutory documents to the flag bearer on behalf of the National Chairman of the party, signaling a unified frontline ahead of the general election.

9japarrot reports that in a move that finalized the party’s electoral structure across the state, Prince Fagbemi also utilized the high-profile gathering to officially announce the party’s authentic candidates for the three senatorial districts.

The party unveiled the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, as the authentic candidate for Kwara Central Senatorial District. For Kwara South, the party announced Prince Olalekan Adewoye (LAF) as its standard-bearer, while Dr. Mohammed Umar Mahamud was officially declared the authentic candidate for Kwara North Senatorial District.

Receiving the documents, the newly formalized governorship candidate, Rt. Hon. Salihu Yakubu Danladi, expressed profound gratitude to the party’s leadership hierarchy and promised an inclusive approach that would unite all interests before the general elections.

“There are negotiations going on. Sixteen of us contested, and definitely, every one of us knows a winner must emerge. A winner has emerged, and it is left to us to carry everyone along, both the governorship and senatorial levels. I thank Mr. President, our national leadership, our leader in Kwara State, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, our party executives, ward leaders, and every stakeholder for the confidence reposed in me,” Danladi said.

The Speaker also commended his co-aspirants for their participation in the primary, describing the contest as a healthy democratic process that would ultimately strengthen the party’s cohesion and victory at the polls.
