A prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholder and 2027 senatorial aspirant for Kwara South, Hon. Olatunde Michaels, has congratulated the Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Salihu Yakubu-Danladi, on his official emergence as the party’s governorship flagbearer for the 2027 gubernatorial election.
In an official statement signed on Saturday and made available to 9japarrot media, Michaels, a multimedia executive and former General Manager of Kwara TV, described the Speaker’s primary election victory as a well-deserved reward for years of unwavering institutional loyalty, dedicated public service, and profound commitment to the progress of Kwara State.
He noted that under the Speaker’s stewardship, the state legislature has modeled rare political maturity, inclusiveness, and humility, maintaining a highly productive, friction-free relationship with the executive arm to ensure subnational policy stability.
“This well-deserved victory is a testament to your years of dedicated service, loyalty to our great party, and unwavering commitment to the progress of Kwara State. Your leadership as the Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly has been marked by maturity, humility, inclusiveness, and an uncommon ability to build consensus. Following the intense internal contest that preceded the ticket’s release, the senatorial aspirant issued a passionate appeal to all co-aspirants, grassroots mobilizers, and aggrieved party structures to collapse their parallel folds and unite behind the authentic flagbearer.
He emphasized that the internal primary season is officially over, and the immediate collective responsibility of the party is to protect and expand the progressive legacies established by the administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
To translate his solidarity into immediate political action, Michaels announced the unconditional donation of his fully structured Kwara South Senatorial District Campaign Office, located in Oro, Irepodun Local Government Area, to the central Salihu Yakubu-Danladi Campaign Team for unhindered operational deployment throughout the 2027 electioneering cycle.
