Concerned stakeholders and party members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Moro Local Government Area of Kwara State have disowned a purported communiqué circulating in the public domain regarding the political arrangements for the Kwara North Senatorial ticket.
The controversy follows a document dated Monday, 17 August 2026, which claimed to represent the collective resolutions of an “Expanded Critical Stakeholders and Local Government Executive Committee” meeting of the party in Moro Local Government.
In a counter-statement issued by a group operating under the aegis of Concerned PDP Stakeholders and Members, Moro LGA, and made available to 9japarrot on Tuesday, the group disavowed the publication, describing it as unauthorized and misleading.
In the rejoinder, the aggrieved party members raised critical questions challenging the authenticity of the meeting and its resulting decisions, demanding transparency from those behind the document.
The group questioned who formally convened and chaired the meeting, where it was held, and which recognized party organ authorized the process. They further expressed serious concern over the attendance list attached to the communiqué, alleging that signatures and names may have been used without legitimate consent to simulate full backing.
“No individual or group should speak for the entire Moro PDP without the legitimate mandate to do so, No political arrangement should be built on a forged or unauthorized record,” the statement read.
Stakeholders in Moro LGA have long advocated for equitable inclusion, noting that despite their sustained loyalty and electoral contributions to the party, the local government deserves a transparent and fair process regarding national assembly representation.
The group warned against any attempt by a few individuals to surrender or trade off the collective political aspirations of the people of Moro behind closed doors.
Addressing the party hierarchy, the stakeholders appealed to the Kwara State PDP leadership to launch an immediate investigation into the circumstances surrounding the publication and its attached attendance register before using it as a basis for any binding political decisions.
The group emphasized that while they remain committed to party supremacy and unity, true consensus can only be built through open dialogue involving all recognized executives, aspirants, and genuine stakeholders.
