Reacting to the incident in a video shared on his social media platforms, VeryDarkMan condemned the treatment of the girls, insisting that allegations of theft do not justify public humiliation, abuse or mob justice.
The activist said even if the girls were guilty of stealing the wigs, they were entitled to due process and should be handed over to law enforcement authorities rather than subjected to degrading treatment.
He called on members of the public to provide credible information that could help identify the women involved, offering N1 million to anyone who assists in tracing them.
VeryDarkMan said the police should investigate the incident and ensure that anyone found to have participated in the alleged harassment is held accountable under the law.
He stressed that Nigerians should allow law enforcement agencies to handle allegations of criminal offences instead of taking the law into their own hands.
