The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has reportedly detained social media influencer and cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, at Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos. Bobrisky, en route to London, announced his arrest via Instagram on Thursday night, just hours after sharing his plans to depart Nigeria.
In the post, Bobrisky appealed for public assistance, claiming to be “badly injured” following the arrest. “Nigerians help me, EFCC just arrested me. I’m badly injured,” he wrote.
Social commentator Isaac Fayose, brother of former Ekiti State Governor, also posted a photo with Bobrisky before takeoff, showing them together on the same flight to London. Shortly after, a video surfaced online showing Bobrisky being removed from the plane by airport officials. The EFCC has not yet commented on the incident.
