The Offa MOK Progressive Forum was officially inaugurated on Sunday in Offa Local Government Area of Kwara State, following the declaration of over 500 grassroots mobilisers formerly associated with the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The inauguration and reception ceremony took place at the Ojomu Gedegbe Compound Hall in Offa, bringing together prominent Kwara South PDP stakeholders, community leaders, and party executives ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the Offa MOK Progressive Forum, Amb. Ogunlade Mukaila Ayobami Ibrahim explained that the collective exit from the APC was driven by political neglect, poor consultation, and a lack of support for grassroots organizers who form the backbone of community engagement.

“Our decision to leave the APC followed a complete lack of leadership support, consultation, and genuine commitment to grassroots members,” Ogunlade stated.
“Efforts to strengthen the party were repeatedly frustrated by the absence of adequate backing from its leadership, leaving us with no choice but to seek a platform that prioritises the interests of ordinary citizens.” He added.
Ogunlade noted that the forum committed its organizational structure to the PDP to advance good governance, community development, and political inclusion across Kwara State, while expressing gratitude to the founder of MOK, Alhaji Muhydeen Okunlola Kayode, for his sustained philanthropic leadership and community empowerment in Offa.
“The Offa MOK Progressive Forum is fully committed to serving the people of Offa and supporting the PDP in its quest to secure a decisive victory in the 2027 general elections,” he added.

Welcoming the new members, Kwara South PDP Senatorial Candidate, Hon. Prince Saheed Popoola, alongside Offa PDP Local Government Chairman, Hon. Jide Jato, assured the forum of equal opportunities, full integration into the party machinery, and an open-door administration.
“The PDP’s achievements during its years in government remain a strong reference point for voters,” Popoola said during his address.
“We must remain united, work together, and mobilize support across every community to achieve our political objectives and deliver responsive leadership in 2027.” He added.
Speaking also, Hon. Jide Jato expressed firm confidence in the party’s electoral prospects, urging the newly inducted members to deploy their grassroots network effectively.
“We welcome the Offa MOK Progressive Forum and all our new members into the PDP fold,” Jato said in his closing remarks.
“Your dedication and capacity will be invaluable to our campaign efforts, and I am confident that with collective effort and discipline, the PDP will emerge victorious in 2027.” He added.
The political gathering had in attendance PDP candidates for the Kwara State House of Assembly in Offa; Hon. Lukman Adeyemi (Ojomu/Balogun Constituency) and Hon. Ganiyu Lukman Ola (Essa/Shawo/Igbo-Idun Constituency) the Offa PDP Women Leader, and ward-level executives from across the local government area.
