Toyin Abraham Issues Cease-and-Desist Notice, Warns Bloggers Over False Reports

Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has threatened to take legal action against individuals and media platforms accused of circulating false and damaging reports about her.

Through her legal representatives, the actress issued a cease-and-desist notice dated November 5, cautioning bloggers, social media users, content creators and influencers against publishing or sharing unverified information about her.

The notice, signed by her lawyer, Tope Salami, described the alleged publications as false, misleading and capable of undermining her professional image, personal integrity and reputation.

Abraham shared the legal document on her X account on Thursday, urging the public to carefully go through its contents.

In the notice, her lawyers demanded that those responsible immediately discontinue the publication, reposting, endorsement or circulation of allegedly defamatory statements about the actress on social media and other communication platforms.

They also requested the removal of existing posts, videos, comments and other online materials containing claims considered false or defamatory.

Furthermore, the legal team warned against the creation or promotion of fabricated allegations, malicious insinuations and content designed to ridicule, harass or tarnish Abraham’s reputation and business interests.

The notice stated that anyone who continued to spread or amplify such claims after receiving the warning could face legal consequences.

It added that relevant publications, videos, comments, social media posts and other digital materials would be preserved as evidence for possible legal proceedings.

The lawyer also stressed that freedom of expression did not grant individuals the right to circulate false information or unlawfully damage another person’s reputation.

The development follows renewed social media discussions involving Abraham and fellow Nollywood actress Funke Akindele.

In October 2026, an alleged private audio conversation between Abraham and a TikTok user identified as Bisgold surfaced online, generating widespread reactions over comments reportedly made about Akindele.

However, the authenticity and full context of the recording have not been independently verified.

Meanwhile, Abraham’s legal representatives appealed to members of the public to exercise caution, verify information before sharing it and ensure that any future commentary about the actress is factual and supported by credible evidence.
