Abibakr As-Sidiq Philanthropic Home (ASPH), with support from the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief), has completed five solar-powered borehole projects in communities across the Togolese Republic to improve access to clean water.
The projects, executed under Project OP-660, were completed on October 9, 2026, with facilities installed in Moumento, Kalgora, Atchavédo, Adoglové and N’Tifafa Kome.
Each of the five facilities is equipped with a solar-powered pumping system, water-storage tanks, distribution taps, perimeter fencing, livestock drinking troughs and solar lighting.
The intervention is expected to ease the difficulty residents face in accessing water, particularly those who previously travelled long distances to meet their household and other domestic water needs.
Residents of the beneficiary communities have welcomed the projects, expressing appreciation to ASPH and KSrelief for the intervention. They noted that the facilities would make water more accessible and reduce the challenges associated with water collection.
The communities also commended KSrelief for its support, describing the intervention as an important contribution to improving living conditions and addressing basic humanitarian needs.
Speaking on the completion of the projects, ASPH’s Chief Operating Officer and Project Manager, Barrister Abdulrazzaq Farid said the initiative was aimed at improving access to water and strengthening community welfare.
He stressed the need for community involvement, regular maintenance and continuous monitoring to ensure the facilities remain functional and serve their intended purpose over the long term.
The Chief Operating Officer also acknowledged the support of KSrelief, as well as the cooperation of the beneficiary communities and the personnel involved in implementing the projects.
The completion of the five boreholes forms part of ASPH’s broader humanitarian commitment to providing essential services and implementing sustainable community development interventions for vulnerable populations across Africa.
