Real Madrid manager, Jose Mourinho, has hinted that Vinicius Jr could be left out of the starting lineup in the club’s upcoming matches.
The Brazilian forward has struggled for form this season, managing just one goal across all competitions.
Vinicius Jr is currently serving a three-match LaLiga suspension, which has given Yan Diomande an opportunity to feature in the team and impress.
With the Brazilian nearing the end of his suspension, Mourinho was asked whether his return would create a selection dilemma.
Responding, the Portuguese tactician stressed that the team’s overall interest would take priority over individual players.
He said: “The team is what matters most.
“It’s true that Vinicius has played in the last two Champions League matches.
“But once things return to normal and he is fully available, I will manage the situation accordingly.”
