QS Oyetunde Oyelola Is a Man Of Integrity – Prof. Fasakin



The former Rector Federal Polytechnic Ile-Oluji, Prof. Adedayo Fasakin has described the Pioneer Director of Physical Planning of the Institution, QS Oyetunde Oyelola as a man of integrity, excellent service and track records in his chosen career.

Prof. Fasakin disclosed this during the retirement party/65th birthday celebration of QS Oyetunde Oyelola held at Hassant Event Center, Ado-Ekiti on October 1, 2024.

He noted that the graduate of Quantity Survey from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife led Directorate of Physical Planning to deliver world class and sustainable buildings, roads and other construction at the Federal Polytechnic Ile-Oluji.

According to him, during my days as Rector of Federal Polytechnic Ile-Oluji, I worked with QS Oyetunde Oyelola and I can attest to his integrity, dedication to service and good character. We worked together with other management team and staff to deliver the magnificent buildings in the Polytechnic today. I am proud of him.

Similarly, the incumbent Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr Ademola Ebeloku also acknowledged immense contributions of QS Oyelola towards making the institution a reference point across the country. Ebeloku prayed that the Almighty God will continue to guide him in the post retirement activities.

While recounting his journey in Federal Civil Service, QS Oyelola said his journey started at the Federal Polytechnic Ado-Ekiti in 1988, later to Federal University of Technology Akure and Federal Polytechnic Ile-Oluji as Pioneer Director of Physical Planning in 2015.

QS Oyelola who was filled with joy, excitement and sense of fulfillment stated that his employment at Federal Polytechnic Ile-Oluji marks the watershed in his career.

His words: “Prior to my appointment as Pioneer Director, i used to have vision and see myself with other dignitaries laying foundation of Buildings in a FOREST. Among those dignitaries was Pastor Adeboye as a Pro Chancellor/Chairman of Governing Council because of that I applied to Redeemer University for the post of Director. However, i was invited for interview but for the post of Chief Quantity Surveyor. I declined to attend the interview.

“On November 16 2015 Prof. Fasakin took me to the permanent site. When we got to the Temporary office, i told my Driver to drive me back to the Permanent site and offered prayers for actualization of the vision

“We are able to develop about 30% of the land space in the Master Plan within Nine years.”

QS Oyelola said he had to step on toes of Contractors and some Consultants to deliver humongus and commodius structures that many visitors , new and old staff are proud of today.

While sharing testimonies, Prince Oyewole Oyelola FCA appreciated the celebrant who happened to his brother for making sacrifices by using NYSC allowance to purchase GCE form  for him. The Chartered Accountant said his contributions and mentorship propelled him to the top in his career.

In addition, his children; Ebunoluwa and Gbolagunte Oyelola making a lot of sacrifices to help them actualize their dreams. “My Daddy used to travel tro and fro Ado-Ekiti daily while working at FUTA just to be with his family. Daddy, we appreciate your sacrifices and support.”

Many professional associates, friends and colleagues poured encomium on QS Oyetunde Oyelola for his meritorious and impactful service to the nation and humanity.

QS Oyetunde Oyelola holds degree in Quantity Survey from Obafemi Awolowo University and  Master’s degree in Construction Management from University of Lagos. He is a fellow Nigerian Institution of Quantity Survey.
