
Flood of memories swept through Anifowoshe Community Junior Secondary School as the school community gathered to bid farewell to their beloved principal, Alhaja Faosat Titilayo Dasuki, who retired after a remarkable 30-year career.
The retirement ceremony was marked by a series of heartfelt tributes from various stakeholders, including the school management, the Principals’ Association (ANCOPSS), the host community (PADA), teaching colleagues, and the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT).
Alhaja Dasuki’s dedication to education and her exceptional leadership qualities were extolled by all who spoke. Her successor, Alhaja Adamoh Baba Sahid, praised her as an outstanding principal with excellent communication skills and a genuine care for every student.
Mr. Abdullateef Tejidini Ahmed, Chairman of ANCOPSS Ilorin West, highlighted her collaborative spirit and her ability to foster a strong sense of teamwork among her colleagues. He expressed deep regret at her departure, acknowledging her invaluable contributions to the educational landscape of Ilorin West.
The host community, represented by Mr. Murtala Alowonle, expressed their gratitude for her unwavering commitment to the school and her cooperative spirit with the Parents Association. They prayed for her continued well-being and prosperity in retirement.
The Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT) Ilorin West, represented by Mr. Aminullahi Mai-masa, lauded Alhaja Dasuki as a teacher of extraordinary qualities, whose knowledge, expertise, and compassionate nature have left an enduring impact on countless students.
Speaking to InsiderNg, Mrs. Dasuki’s son-in-law, Engr. Musa Surajudeen, described her as a multifaceted individual who excelled in various roles. He expressed hope that her expertise and experience would continue to benefit the education sector.
In her farewell speech, Alhaja Dasuki expressed her gratitude to her colleagues, family, parents, and students for their unwavering support throughout her career. She reminisced about her fulfilling journey as a teacher and principal at Anifowoshe Community Junior Secondary School.
