Across Irepodun, Ekiti, Isin and Oke-Ero, a quiet, steady change is taking shape not the noisy politics of slogans, but practical, people-centred work that shifts lives one household at a time. At the heart of that movement is Amofin Titilope Akogun: a lawyer, philanthropist and civic organiser whose BTA Foundation has become synonymous with education support, youth empowerment and grassroots empowerment initiatives in Kwara South.
What makes this a “silent revolution” is the method: small, well-targeted interventions that build trust and capacity rather than chase headlines. Under Akogun’s leadership the BTA Foundation has sponsored scholarships, distributed educational materials, provided free JAMB forms and offset school fees for indigent pupils, moves that remove immediate barriers to learning and create pathways for longer-term social mobility. These practical acts of service have rippled through communities, boosting morale and opening doors for young people.
What makes it significant is the young brain behind the Movement; A young Akogun, breaking barriers and showing stuffs that our people can be happy again and that the wide gap between the people and their representatives can be bridged and governance felt.
