APC Chieftain and leading aspirant for the Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun Federal Constituency, Hon. Gbenga Oyekunle Power has officially declare his intention to contest for the House of Representative seat representing the Ifelodun Offa and Oyun Federal Constituency comes 2027.
He made the declaration while hosting a grand Iftar and interactive session with party stakeholders in Offa on Monday.
The event, which held at the Avalon Hotel, served as both a spiritual gathering and a political intimation session, drawing together ward chairmen, councillors, and executive members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) from across Offa LGA.
Addressing the gathering, Hon. Gbenga Power emphasized that his aspiration is born out of a desire for selfless service rather than personal gain, pointing to his long-term private interventions as evidence of his readiness to manage public resources.
“I am not vying to embezzle or steal funds, I am going there to deliver the work you send me to do. If a person cannot spend their personal money to invest in the people, how can they spend government money judiciously” He said .

“I have constructed no fewer than 22 boreholes serving our communities over the years. I have passed this test of sacrifice, and I am fit to represent Ifelodun, Offa, and Oyun.” He added.
Hon. Gbenga further declared with confidence noting that God has chosen him and it is turn while promising that his tenure would be a collective responsibility where no one is excluded from the governance process.
On his part, Offa LGA APC Chairman, Hon. Nasiru Adekunle Moshood (Kunle Papa) lauded the aspirant for his uncommon consistency.

He noted that despite not holding a political office, Gbenga Power has remained a pillar of support for the party and the people.
“He has tried to contest several times without a breakthrough, yet he never relented in supporting the party or the people. People like him are worthy of commendation. If the people of Ifelodun and Oyun support him, Offa will not be an issue,” the Chairman said.
Similarly, the Executive Chairman of Offa Local Government, Hon. Suleiman Olatunji Laaro (Omituntun), appreciated the aspirant for the Iftar initiative.

He noted that while the party awaits final ratification of candidates, the people of Offa are ready to support whoever is eventually anointed by the party leadership.
The session officiated by Prince Bola Olojoku featured a rigorous question-and-answer segment where party executives “tested” the aspirant’s readiness on key legislative and developmental issues.

In a further show of commitment, Hon. Gbenga Power announced a cash support donation to the party, reinforcing his reputation as a consistent financier and supporter of the APC structure in Kwara State.
