••• Pledges Continued Development for Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun Federal Constituency
The race for the Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives took a significant turn on Sunday as Engr. Azeez Abiodun Olaniyan popularly known as OLAAZ officially declared his intention to contest in the 2027 general elections under the ruling All Progressive Congress APC party.
Choosing the symbolic setting of his ancestral ward, Ora, for the declaration, Engr. Olaniyan engaged with a top assembly of party leaders, stakeholders, and executive members, grounding his ambition in his proven history of community service.
Addressing the gathering, Engr Olaniyan highlighted his previous developmental interventions, which he facilitated as a private citizen and through his leadership in old students’ associations.
These include, renovation of Ora schools and the establishment of a modern Basic Science Laboratory, provision of borehole water systems equipped with new power generators for the community and strategic synergy with the administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to attract state-led projects to the axis, among others.
“I have always been passionate about our people. From the renovation of our schools to providing clean water, my work speaks for me. If I am given the mandate to represent Ifelodun, Offa, and Oyun at the federal level, I will work to the fullest part of my capacity to ensure our constituency is never left behind.” He said.
To mark the occasion, the aspirant also reached out to the vulnerable, providing cash empowerment to numerous widows and youths within Ora land and across other communities in Ifelodun.
The high point of the event was when the newly installed Olora of Ora, HRH Oba Rilwan Olawale Aremu Yekini showered the aspirant with royal blessings and prayers, noting the importance of sons of the soil returning home to build their communities.
On his part, the Olowo of Ita Olowo, urged the aspirant to remain truthful and grounded.
“Don’t run away from the people once you reach the seat. Remember the grassroots and those who stayed behind for you so that you do not regret at the end,” he advised.
A Community Leader, Alhaja Yunusa Odesile explained that they have known the aspirant since childhood, lauding him for not having lapses that can affect his standing.
” You are our son, and we believe you will not forget your fatherland once you reach there” He added.
Ora Ward APC Chairman, Hon. Muhammad Rashid Adebayo, and other political figures, including Hon. Lawal Olanrewaju David (LOD), expressed confidence in the aspirant’s candidacy, with the Ward Chairman personally promised to deliver the mandate, citing OLAAZ’s accessibility and dedication as key winning factors.
The gathering also featured Engr. Abdulkadri Alausa, Chairman of the Youth Democratic Coalition (YODECO), and Hon. Oriade Adebayo Wasiu, signaling strong support from the youth demographic across the federal constituency.
9japarrot reports that with this declaration, Engr. Azeez Olaniyan has officially kicked off a consultation tour that is expected to move through Offa and Oyun Local Government Areas. His campaign, centered on Technical Competence and Grassroots Loyalty, aims to present a fresh alternative for the Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun federal seat.
