Kwara Central Stakeholders under the aegis of the Ilorin East APC Progressive Caucus, on Tuesday formally joined the growing movement for political continuity in Kwara State by endorsing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term and Dr. Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa (BOB) for the 2027 governorship seat.
The endorsement took place during a “Prayer & Mobilization” event held at Favour Hall, Zango, Ilorin, where party faithful gathered to deliberate on the future of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at both the state and national levels.
The session commenced with interfaith opening prayers led by Deaconess Omotosho Temitope (Omotosure) and Muhammed Olusola Tajudeen (Olojowo) followed by the national anthem, signaling a solemn yet determined start to the political engagement.
In his keynote address, the Chairman of the occasion and Convener Chief Babatunde Kolawole Asanlu stated that the caucus’s support for President Tinubu was rooted in his courage and vision.
He cited the removal of fuel subsidy, exchange rate reforms, and the student loan programme as critical foundations for national progress.
“We believe he deserves a second term to sustain and complete these reforms,” Asanlu added.
Turning to the state’s political future, the caucus unanimously adopted Dr. Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa as their preferred candidate to succeed the current administration in 2027.
Chief Asanlu highlighted Bolarinwa’s pivotal role as the former APC State Chairman during the historic 2019 “Otege” movement, describing him as a leader with a strong grassroots connection and the capacity to maintain the party’s unity.
“Dr. Bolarinwa is a tested leader with proven experience and broad acceptance. We are convinced he has the capacity and leadership qualities needed to move Kwara forward,” the Convener added.
The event was attended by a cross-section of party stalwarts, including Alhaji Ibrahim Saheed, Coordinator for Ilorin East Local Government, Abolaji Ramat Olaide, Alhaja Sidikat Gidado, among others.
The caucus reaffirmed their unwavering loyalty to the party urging members across the local government to begin mobilization efforts in earnest.
9japarrot reports that the gathering concluded with a collective reaffirmation of the “BOB 2027” agenda, positioning Ilorin East as a key pillar in the aspirant’s gubernatorial bid.
