Barrister Hussain Afolabi Formally Submits Letter of Intent for House of Reps, Seeks Power Shift to Moro

Barrister Hussain Afolabi, a legal practitioner and Convener of the Asiwaju Grassroots Alliance Initiative (AGAIN) has formally submitted his letter of intent to contest the Edu/Moro/Patigi Federal Constituency seat.

In a high-stakes stakeholders’ engagement held at Agbeke Hall, Shao on Saturday, the aspirant widely known as Amofin presented his formal notification to the Moro LG APC Chairman, Hon. Abdulfatai Babatunde Salahudeen marking the official commencement of his 2027 campaign under the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Speaking during the gathering covered live by 9japarrot media, the legal expert highlighted a stark historical imbalance, noting that since the dawn of the Fourth Republic in 1999, Moro LGA has been sidelined in the representation of the federal constituency at the National Assembly.

“I strongly believe that this moment presents a historic opportunity to promote fairness, inclusiveness, and balanced representation,” Afolabi said.

“Despite our significant contributions to the political strength and unity of this constituency, Moro has yet to have the privilege of serving in this capacity. It is time to rectify this through a credible and committed candidate.” He added.

In his letter of intent, Barrister Afolabi presented himself as a “grassroots-oriented team player” ready to defend the supremacy of the party. He outlined a legislative blueprint aimed at addressing the constituency’s most pressing challenges, including: Legislative interventions to curb insecurity, Tackling youth unemployment and boosting agricultural development, attracting federal projects to the Edu/Moro/Patigi axis and by promoting peace and cooperation across the three local government areas through religious harmony.

Receiving the letter, the Moro LG APC Chairman, Hon. Abdulfatai Salahudeen commended the aspirant for his decorum and for formally recognizing the party’s administrative structure.

He was joined by APC Chieftain Alhaji Issa Aweda, who described Afolabi as a loyal party man whose professional background and loyalty make him a formidable contender for the ticket.

The submission was witnessed by a large assembly of party leaders and faithful who turned the hall into a scene of solidarity.

Supporters of the “AGAIN” movement expressed optimism that Afolabi’s entrance would redefine the 2027 race, moving it beyond traditional power blocs toward a conversation about equity and technical competence.

9japarrot reports that by centering his campaign on the formal “Submission of Intent” and the argument for regional fairness, Barrister Hussain Afolabi has positioned Moro LGA as a decisive factor in the upcoming APC primaries.
