2027: Ajayi Reuben Olabanji Emerges PDP Consensus Candidate for KWHA Ekiti Constituency

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ekiti Local Government Chapter, under the leadership of the Chapter Chairman, Chief Agbelusi Felix Olushola (JP), has officially elected Hon. Ajayi Reuben Olabanji, ACA, ACTI, from Oke-Opin/Etan Ward, as the party’s consensus candidate for the Kwara State House of Assembly, representing Ekiti Constituency in the forthcoming elections.

Hon. Ajayi Reuben Olabanji emerged through a consensus arrangement following consultations among party stakeholders and aspirants within the constituency while his affirmation was done earlier today across the ten ward in Ekiti LG Kwara State.

In his acceptance remarks, he appreciated his co-contenders, Engr. Emmanuel Idowu Ogunleye of Obbo-Aiyegunle Ward I and Comrade Dada Oluwole Emmanuel of Isolo-Opin, Opin Ward, for their maturity, unity, and sportsmanship throughout the process.

According to Hon. Ajayi, “We are all qualified to represent our constituency, and I cannot succeed without the support and cooperation of everyone. I deeply appreciate the spirit of unity demonstrated by my fellow aspirants and stakeholders.”

He further pledged his unwavering loyalty to the Peoples Democratic Party and reaffirmed his commitment to serving the people of Ekiti Constituency diligently and responsibly.

Reacting to the development, the PDP Youth Leader in Ekiti Local Government, Comrade Abiodun Segun Ege, commended the leadership of the party for the peaceful and successful conduct of the primary election.

He specifically praised the efforts of Hon. Chief Mrs. Felicia Ebun Owolabi, Chief Agbelusi Felix Olushola, and other party leaders for ensuring unity and fairness during the exercise.

Comrade Ege noted that Oke-Opin/Etan Ward has long awaited an opportunity to occupy an elective position, describing Hon. Ajayi’s emergence as a significant milestone for the ward and the constituency at large.

Speaking after the exercise, Chief Agbelusi Felix Olushola appreciated the presence and professionalism of security personnel and the electoral officer sent from the state, Dr.  Taofeeq Garuba, for ensuring a credible and peaceful process.

He assured party members and stakeholders of continued peace and unity ahead of future party activities and the general elections.

“We must work collectively to return our great party to power in 2027. Our constituency and Kwara State deserve better governance and quality representation,” the chairman stated.
