Apapa APC Primary: Stakeholders Rally Behind Dr. Adedayo Jimsam, Urge President Tinubu to Restore Disputed Mandate

Grassroots party faithful has rallied behind Dr. Adedayo Adesola Jimsam, petitioning President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR to intervene and uphold his victory in the disputed All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for the Apapa Federal Constituency.

The formal appeal, issued on Wednesday by the Concerned APC Stakeholders & Democratic Advocates and made available to 9japarrot presents an ironclad, data-backed case asserting that Dr. Jimsam holds the legitimate mandate of the people, fiercely rejecting the declaration of Hon. Egberogbe Adewale as the party’s flagbearer.

The coalition emphasized that their massive backing of Dr. Jimsam is not a matter of sentiment, but a patriotic stance rooted in verifiable data, equity, and the sanctity of internal party democracy.

To demonstrate why the grassroots are rallying so heavily behind his candidacy, the stakeholders brought forward documented evidence from the local primary monitoring organs:

Adedayo Adesola Jimsam secured an overwhelming mandate of over 1,500 votes in Ward H alone a decisive turnout that established his commanding popularity.

The Local Government APC Primary Election Committee formally reviewed the balloting and fully certified the credibility of the votes cast for Dr. Jimsam, leaving his lead entirely undisputed.

Recognizing Dr. Jimsam’s massive, cross-constituency acceptance among delegates, State APC Executives acknowledged the monitoring committee’s observation that further ward primaries were unnecessary, as there was no viable contestation against his recorded dominance.

In a revealing revelation, credible reports from party monitors confirmed that no election took place in three out of the ten wards constituting the constituency, specifically highlighting Ijora Oloye Ward E.

The stakeholders argued that because the primary process could not logically or legally proceed where no opponent could match Dr. Jimsam’s recorded numbers, Hon. Egberogbe Adewale cannot be recognized as the legitimate winner under the party’s constitution.

The Concerned Stakeholders also used the brief to clarify recent comments made by the Iyaloja-General of Nigeria,Hon. Folashade Tinubu-Ojo regarding ongoing internal party disputes across Lagos State.

While Hon. Tinubu-Ojo publicly noted that two Local Governments within the state have unresolved primary issues, the coalition explicitly pointed out that Apapa was not included in those two mentioned areas. However, they stressed that Apapa requires an independent, high-priority review by the party’s national leadership precisely because the empirical proof and recorded data already exist on-ground to validate Dr. Jimsam’s mandate.

The group passionately appealed to the National APC Executive Committee and the Lagos State APC Executive Committee to look past political maneuvers and honor the voice of the people. They called on President Tinubu, as the father of progressive politics and chief custodian of the Renewed Hope Agenda to ensure the local committee’s report is fully upheld.

“The strength of a party is tested not when it wins, but when it chooses to be fair in victory,” the stakeholders declared, urging Apapa to be the model for transparent internal democracy.

Key Remedial Demands by the Coalition are as follows;

1. Uphold the Official Committee Report: Let due process and documented ward-level realities determine the rightful representative of the constituency.

2. Affirm Dr. Jimsam’s Standard-Bearer Status: Formally recognize and certify Dr. Adedayo Adesola Jimsam as the authentic APC candidate for the Apapa Federal Constituency, House of Representatives.

3. Preserve Grassroots Trust: Reversing the denial of this mandate will boost party morale, deepen foundational trust, and guarantee a landslide victory for the APC in Apapa during the general election.

Concluding the petition, the coalition reassured President Tinubu of Apapa’s unwavering loyalty to his administration, stating that the “Renewed Hope” Nigerians believe in must first be protected at the primary level by honoring the genuine choices made by party members.
