A coalition of young political stakeholders under the aegis of the Kwara Central Prominent Youth in Politics has declared its total and unwavering support for the Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Engr. Salihu Yakubu Danladi (SYD), following his emergence as the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for the 2027 general elections.
Reading a press statement jointly signed by the group’s leadership and covered by 9japarrot media, the Coordinator-General of the Kwara Coalition of APC Support Groups, Mallam Abdulmajeed Abdulfatai, stated that Danladi’s emergence through a recognized democratic process marks a monumental, generational shift in the political landscape of Kwara State. The youth group stressed that it is no longer a time to sit on the fence, urging all progressive-minded citizens to unite behind the party’s official flag bearer.
The coalition expressed deep appreciation to the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), and Sardauna Ngeri of Ilorin Emirate, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON. They lauded the Governor for breaking long-standing political barriers by consistently implementing a broad-based youth inclusion policy. According to the group, Governor AbdulRazaq has created an egalitarian political ecosystem where young leaders from humble backgrounds can seamlessly aspire, compete, and reach the pinnacle of state leadership without needing immense financial muscle.
The group described Speaker Danladi as a tested, trusted, and grassroots-bred professional who embodies the resilience of everyday party foot soldiers who toil at the ward, local government, and state levels to keep the party structure strong. They noted that the majority of Kwara youths fully recognize the landmark developmental gains achieved under the current administration across infrastructure, education, healthcare, and human capital development, underscoring the absolute necessity for continuity and executive stability come 2027.
Addressing the recent intra-party friction and differing viewpoints within the party, the youth coalition made a passionate appeal for immediate reconciliation, absolute unity, and collective action. They cautioned that this is not the season for internal bitterness or polarizing divisions, but rather a crucial moment to prioritize the overarching progress of Kwara State above individual political ambitions.
The group pledged to guard Danladi’s candidacy jealously, promising to mobilize robust grassroots support to secure a resounding victory for the APC at the general polls and ensure the sustainable progress of the state.
