Frontline political leaders, public office holders, and party administrators under the aegis of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Stakeholders Forum in Offa Local Government Area have issued an unequivocal joint statement affirming the absolute legitimacy of the party’s recent governorship primary election.
In a decisive move aimed at laying to rest ongoing internal controversies, the stakeholders formally endorsed the Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly,Rt. Hon. Engr. Salihu Yakubu-Danladi as the party’s authentic, democratically elected gubernatorial flagbearer for the 2027 governorship election.
The stakeholders in a statement made available to 9japarrot categorically affirmed that the direct primary election which produced Rt. Hon. Engr. Salihu Yakubu-Danladi fully complied with the APC constitution, internal guidelines, and statutory democratic nomination protocols.
Dismissing opposing narratives, the forum stated that the outcome directly reflects the collective will of the overwhelming majority of party faithful across the state, emphasizing that the result remains sacrosanct, irreversible, and binding on all organs and members of the party. They warned that any attempt, whether directly or indirectly, to undermine or reopen the already settled decision of a properly conducted primary election sets a dangerous precedent capable of destabilizing internal democracy.
Describing the House of Assembly Speaker as the vanguard of a new wave of vibrant, purposeful leadership, the community leaders declared their unqualified backing for his standard-bearer status. Citing his immense legislative stewardship and deep administrative competence, the stakeholders asserted that his candidacy is the definitive formula required to consolidate the landmark gains of the ruling party across Kwara’s senatorial districts, jointly charging all aggrieved aspirants and party members to immediately close ranks, collapse existing internal structures, and mobilize a unified front to ensure a landslide victory at the polls.
The joint declaration similarly featured a high-profile vote of confidence passed on the Executive Governor of Kwara State and Leader of the party, His Excellency, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq whom the forum highly commended for providing stability, expanding infrastructural development across the state, and ensuring that Kwara remains fundamentally aligned with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Concluding the address, the critical stakeholders cautioned party members against unguarded public statements, media campaigns, or actions capable of triggering fractionalization or structural weakness within the progressive fold, emphasizing that the individual networks of Offa’s political ecosystem remain firmly committed to defending the organizational integrity of the APC from top to bottom.
This unified declaration was collectively executed by Hon. Gbenga Yussuf (Member, Kwara State House of Assembly representing Eesa/Shawo/Igbodun Constituency), Hon. Seun Ogunniyi (Member, Kwara State House of Assembly representing Ojomu/Balogun Constituency), Dr. Amina Ahmed El-Imam (Honorable Commissioner for Health, Kwara State), Hon.
