The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, has described Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s re-election in Ekiti State and the party’s strong showing in recent bye-elections as a clear endorsement of the APC and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser, Abimbola Tooki, Yilwatda said the election results showed that Nigerians recognise the long-term benefits of the APC’s economic reforms, infrastructure development, institutional renewal and responsible governance despite current economic challenges.
He said the APC’s commanding victory in Ekiti and its success in five of the six bye-elections reflected public confidence in the party’s commitment to development, accountability, stability and citizens’ welfare.
Yilwatda noted that Governor Oyebanji’s landslide victory was a reward for his inclusive leadership, prudent resource management and achievements in infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture and other key sectors.
According to him, the Ekiti election has become a national example of how performance-driven governance can earn public trust, stressing that tangible results, rather than political propaganda, remain the foundation of electoral success.
He also described Ekiti under Oyebanji as one of Nigeria’s leading governance success stories, citing progress in road construction, rural development, healthcare, agriculture, workers’ welfare, human capital development and ease of doing business.
Yilwatda added that the election outcome also supports President Tinubu’s reform agenda, which he said is gradually building a more resilient, productive and globally competitive Nigerian economy.
