Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo has become his country’s all-time leading scorer in FIFA World Cup history following a brace in a 5–0 victory over Uzbekistan on Tuesday.
The 41-year-old forward, who plays for Al-Nassr, now has 10 World Cup goals from 24 appearances, moving one goal ahead of Eusébio, who previously held the record with nine.
The match further strengthened Ronaldo’s standing in Portugal’s World Cup scoring charts as he extended his tally with two goals in the emphatic win.
Portugal’s all-time top World Cup goalscorers list is now led by Ronaldo (10), followed by Eusébio (9). Pauleta ranks third with four goals, while José Augusto, José Torres, and Gonçalo Ramos each have three.
Behind them are Pepe, Bruno Fernandes, Thiago, Rafael Leão, and Maniche, who have all scored twice in World Cup history for Portugal.
