THE STRUGGLE CONTINUES
A Message of Gratitude, Hope and Resolve from the Leadership of the Kwara G15 Movement.
We, the undersigned leaders of the Kwara G15 Movement, extend our profound appreciation to every member, supporter, stakeholder and well-wisher who has remained steadfast in support of our shared vision for a more democratic, inclusive and people-centred future for our party, APC, and Kwara State.
Your courage, commitment and unwavering support continue to strengthen our resolve. Every message of encouragement, every sacrifice and every demonstration of loyalty from across Kwara State reassures us that our cause is just. It also confirms that our collective aspirations are shared by countless party members and citizens who desire fairness, justice and genuine consultation in the affairs of our party.
We are fully aware of the immense pressures many of you are presently facing. Some have been offered financial inducements, appointments and other personal benefits. Others have faced intimidation, blackmail and various forms of coercion calculated to weaken their resolve. We understand the difficulties these pressures create, and we deeply appreciate the sacrifices that many of you continue to make.
These developments do not surprise us. Whenever people take a principled stand, attempts will inevitably be made to persuade, pressure or intimidate them into abandoning their convictions. Far from weakening our movement, however, these tactics demonstrate that our collective resistance is succeeding. They also expose the growing isolation, desperation and unpopularity of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq and the small circle surrounding him.
We reiterate that this movement was born out of a sincere commitment to restoring consultation, inclusiveness, respect for party members and genuine democratic participation. It is greater than any one individual. It belongs to every man and woman who believes that leadership should be earned through fairness, consultation and the freely expressed will of the people.
Let no one, therefore, be discouraged or distracted. Let us remain resolute in our cause. The principles that brought us together remain unchanged, and our commitment to them remains absolute. To every member who has endured criticism, intimidation or personal sacrifice because of this cause, we say: we recognise your courage, we appreciate your sacrifice, and we stand firmly with you.
As your leaders, we assure you that we shall not relent. While continuing to resist the undemocratic and grossly unwanted arrangement being imposed upon us by Governor Abdulrazaq, we shall not foreclose any other lawful and democratic option capable of advancing the cause of our people.
We remain committed to ensuring that the voices of ordinary party members are heard and respected, and that no individual or group is permitted to defeat the collective aspirations of our people. The manipulations of an unpopular leader seeking to impose equally unpopular candidates upon us shall not succeed.
In 2019, through courage, unity and collective resolve, the Otó gẹ́ Movement brought about a historic change of government in Kwara State. Regrettably, the ideals of that movement have been betrayed by its greatest beneficiary, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq. Fortunately, the movement itself remains alive, renewed and energised. It will once again overcome the tiny minority that has been cajoled or induced into supporting an unpopular project.
We achieved change once through Otó gẹ́. Together, we shall do it again.
At this critical moment, we urge everyone to remain peaceful, disciplined and organised. Continue to strengthen our structures in every ward, local government area and senatorial district. Continue to engage our fellow citizens with respect, dignity and humility. Let our conduct always reflect the democratic values and principles for which we stand.
With God’s help and your continued support, we remain confident that the future belongs to those who stand firmly for what is right.
Thank you once again for your loyalty, your sacrifice and your unshakeable belief in this cause.
Together, we shall remain steadfast.
Together, we shall remain united.
Together, we shall prevail.
Long live the Kwara G15 Movement.
Long live our great party.
Long live Kwara State.
Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
