The All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate for Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun Federal Constituency, Rafiu Ajakaye, PhD, on Friday paid a courtesy visit to the Palace of the Olojoku of Ojoku Land, His Royal Highness, Oba AbdulRazaq Adegboyega Afolabi, Iyiolasemi III.
The visit was to congratulate the monarch on the successful completion of his Doctor of Philosophy, PhD, programme.
Describing the royal achievement as a profoundly inspiring milestone, Ajakaye lauded the septuagenarian traditional ruler for demonstrating that neither advanced age nor the demanding responsibilities of the throne present a barrier to the pursuit of higher learning and intellectual growth.
“Oba Adegboyega’s bold effort serves to encourage everyone that neither age nor position is a barrier to seeking knowledge. Thank you, Your Royal Highness,” he said.
Accompanied by party elders and political stakeholders, Ajakaye also used the occasion to brief the traditional ruler on his ambition to represent Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, noting the Olojoku’s role as a key custodian and stakeholder in the area.
During the interaction, the monarch commended the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, for what he described as outstanding, inclusive achievements and transformative governance across the state.
Ajakaye, in his response, expressed gratitude to the Olojoku for the warm reception, fatherly encouragement, and royal counsel extended to his delegation.
He reaffirmed his commitment to maintaining strong ties with traditional institutions to drive sustainable development across the federal constituency.
