Nollywood actor Yemi Solade has revealed that he once received payment to pretend to have a physical disability during a staged healing service at a church.
The veteran actor made the revelation during an interview with Feel Right News TV, recalling how he participated in the alleged fake miracle while he was still a student and yet to make a name for himself in Nollywood.
Solade said he was paid to act as a cripple during the service and later spent the money on alcohol.
“I have been used for miracle then, when I was not popular. I acted as a cripple, they paid, I used the money to drink, then I was a student,” he said.
The actor explained that he was approached to participate in the staged healing service but chose not to disclose the identities of those involved.
“The people involved are still alive; I just don’t want to mention names,” Solade said.
The revelation sheds light on one of Solade’s experiences before he rose to prominence as an actor in both Yoruba and English-language Nollywood productions.
