Kwara Ranks Top 3 Nationally, Leads North-Central in 2026 Transparency Index

Kwara State has been named among the top three states in Nigeria for transparency and integrity compliance, according to 2026 data released by data analytics platform Statisense.

In the assessment obtained by 9japarrot media, Kwara placed third overall nationally, behind Kaduna and Osun, which took first and second positions respectively.

Kwara stood out as the only state in the North-Central geopolitical zone to break into the top twelve on the national index.

The ranking evaluated states across Nigeria using key indicators under the Transparency and Integrity Index (TII), including financial transparency, open procurement, anti-corruption controls, citizens’ engagement, and human resources management.

The report highlighted key fiscal measures under Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq since 2019, including the timely publication of annual budgets and the establishment of citizen engagement frameworks across Kwara’s three senatorial districts to guide resource allocation and fiscal planning.

The findings challenge recent criticisms regarding the financial governance of the state.

The recognition adds to recent economic milestones for Kwara, following separate assessments that cited the state’s expanding economy, improved ease of doing business, and reduced reliance on federal revenue allocations.
