Arise Television Morning Show anchor, Rufai Oseni, has criticised President Bola Tinubu’s campaign speech at the All Progressives Congress (APC) rally in Kaduna State, describing it as one of the worst he has ever heard.
Oseni, who spoke on Arise Television’s Morning Show on Monday, blamed the president’s aides for allegedly failing to prepare him adequately for his first campaign outing ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He argued that Tinubu’s campaign team should have prepared a concise speech highlighting the administration’s achievements and explaining its policies to Nigerians after nearly four years in office.
According to the broadcaster, the president missed an opportunity to effectively defend his government’s record and communicate its policy direction to voters.
“I think that was the worst campaign speech I’ve ever heard in my life by President Tinubu,” Oseni said.
He added that Tinubu would have been better off not campaigning in Kaduna if he was going to deliver what he described as an embarrassing speech.
Oseni also questioned the preparedness of members of the president’s campaign council, accusing them of allowing Tinubu to deliver a disjointed and poorly coordinated address at a critical moment in his re-election campaign.
He further faulted the president’s remarks on petrol subsidy removal and his attempt to blame opposition parties for the poverty and hunger confronting Nigerians.
The broadcaster maintained that the speech lacked structure, coherence and a clear ideological direction, arguing that the president’s aides should have prepared a five-minute address outlining the administration’s achievements and defending its policies.
“What is wrong with you guys? Is this how much you are so concerned about just collecting money from him?” he queried.
Oseni said the campaign team had failed the president by not ensuring that he was adequately prepared for the rally.
“I feel for President Tinubu this morning,” he added.
Tinubu is seeking re-election in the 2027 general elections under the platform of the APC.
