The Kwara South Youth Development Organization (KWAYORG) inaugurated its new executive committee on Saturday, with the new President Abolarin Sarafa (DanSarafa) vowing to unite youth groups in the zone.
Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony held at Igbomina Hall, DanSarafa pledged to bridge the division among youth groups and harness their collective energy for meaningful change.
According to him, There are over 100 youth groups in Kwara South but they are pursuing different purposes. We need to come together and work for the development of our Senatorial district.
Abolarin said the new KWAYORG leadership will work with Stakeholders to promote prosperity of the zone.
Sarafa said the association will tackle pressing social and political issues as well as drive positive change in the community.
”KWAYORG has a rich history of advocating for social justice, equality, and democratic values. We are dedicated to continuing this legacy and exploring new ways to engage with our members and the wider community,” He added.
Others executive are Joel Afolayan (Vice President), Obafemi Opeyemi Isaac (Director of Community Development), Ogunbiyi Victor Toluwase (Financial Secretary), Adewara Tolulope Moses (Director of programs), Lawal Muda (Director of New Media), Abdulwahab Habeeb Adeniyi (Welfare Director 1), Ashaolu David Tawio (Secretary General) and Opeyemi Adewale Amos (Publicity Secretary)
The outgoing executive was recognized for their dedication and contributions to the organization’s growth. “Their tireless efforts have laid a solid foundation for us to build upon,” acknowledged the incoming President.
In his remarks, Chairman Board of Trustees, Oloriewe Raheem Adedoyin implored the leadership not to allow politics or bloc sentiment to divide the association.
Elder Statesman Oyin Zubair advised the entire members of KWAYORG to remain resolute in their quest for better representation in the region.
Oyun Zubair however tasked them to be more constructive in their criticism and avoid unnecessary insult in the name of advocacy.
The event was attended by immediate past TIC Chairmen of Isin (Engr Tunde Fadipe and Irepodun (Hon Oyinlola), Convener Ekiti Youth Navigators, Amb Mutiu Funsho Aremu and others.
