Excel In JAMB To Qualify For BTA Scholarships – Amofin Akogun Urges Igi Iwe Beneficiaries

The President of the BTA Foundation, Amofin Titilope Akogun, has called on beneficiaries of the Igi Iwe 2025 educational support scheme to strive for academic excellence in their Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examinations which just commenced, stressing that outstanding performance will qualify them for the foundation’s highly sought-after scholarship awards.

Speaking during an interactive session with the students on the Wednesday evening, Akogun emphasized the organization’s continued commitment to promoting quality education and empowering brilliant young minds from underserved communities.

According to him, the Igi Iwe initiative was created not just to provide short-term relief, but to open long-term opportunities for academic and professional advancement in Kwara South.

“You have been given a seed through the Igi Iwe 2025 program,” Akogun told the students. “What you do with it now depends on your discipline and determination. If you make us proud in your JAMB exams, the BTA Foundation is ready to invest further in your education through full scholarships. Please go and make us proud”. Akogun reiterated.

The Igi Iwe scheme, launched last year by the BTA Foundation, provides educational support to promising students who are bright but indigent pupils and students preparing for major national examinations such as WAEC and JAMB.

So far, it has impacted over 285 students(151 in 2025 inclusive) across several local government areas, offering free registration, tutoring, and study kits.

One of the beneficiaries, Adebayo Yetunde, expressed her gratitude to the foundation, saying, “Without Igi Iwe, I wouldn’t have been able to register for JAMB this year. Now, I’m even more motivated to read harder and win the scholarship.”

Community leaders and education stakeholders who saw their pupils as beneficiaries praised the Foundation’s efforts, urging other well-meaning individuals and organizations to emulate the gesture.

With the commencement of the 2025 JAMB exams, all eyes are now on the Igi Iwe beneficiaries to rise to the occasion and make their sponsors—and their communities—proud.
