The Executive Chairman of Ifelodun Local Government, Hadji Abdulrasheed Femi Yusuf on Wednesday lauded the Kwara State Governor, His Excellency AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his genuine love and support for the people of Ifelodun Local Government.
Hadji Yusuf made this known during a press briefing held at the NUJ Secretariat in Ilorin to commemorate his one-year anniversary in office, highlighting his administration’s achievements and commending the state governor.
Addressing stakeholders and members of the press, the Chairman declared his first year as a period of achievements and visible impacts across the Ifelodun Local Government.
He attributed his administration’s success to a firm commitment to complementing the efforts of the project-driven Governor, His Excellency Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
Hadji Yusuf was effusive in his praise for the state governor, particularly for his response to the security challenges facing the area.
“I want to appreciate our Executive Governor, H.E. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, for giving us the opportunity and for what he has been doing for us since the breakout of all these security challenges we are having, He said.
“He has done more than what an ordinary governor can do,” the Chairman stated.
He further added that the Governor sees Ifelodun as his home and treating us as such.
“To this day, I want everybody to please give him a round of applause for me as a commendation.”, He said.
Hadji Yusuf also noted that Governor AbdulRazaq’s directive to local government heads, urging them to serve their people and focus on people-oriented projects, has spurred a healthy competition among the local governments in project commissioning.
Adding weight to the Chairman’s achievements, a former Executive Chairman of the local government, Arc. Kayode Abogunrin, spoke highly of Hadji Yusuf’s performance.
Arc. Abogunrin noted the unique complexity of Ifelodun, which he described as being bigger than some states in terms of population and land mass.
“I’m saying this categorically that what he has done in just a year, I’m not sure I achieved them in three years during my tenure as Chairman, Arc. Abogunrin said.
He further acknowledged the magnitude of the security issues in the area, stating that insecurity in Ifelodun is a mountain unto itself.
He argued that even if the Chairman had focused solely on security, he would still deserve commendation, but urged caution in comparing his own past tenure to the present due to the different challenges of the times.
