The Chief Imam of Ilorin, Sheikh (Dr.) Muhammad Bashir Saliu Al-Fulani (OON), often called Imam Bashir or Imam Fulani is dead.
The 12th Chief Imam, appointed in 1983 and a respected scholar, serving under the Emir of Ilorin, Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, leading the spiritual life of the Ilorin Emirate succeeded his father, the 7th Chief Imam, and is known for his deep Islamic knowledge and long service.
According to a reliable source obtained by 9japarrot media, the revered Islamic scholar passed away on Monday.
While the family hasn’t made an official announcement yet, sons and daughters of Ilorin are discreetly expressing their condolences on social media, using phrases like “Subhanallah”, “Innalillahi wa Inna Ilaihi rojiun”, and “He’ll be greatly missed”, indirectly confirming the news.
