Sheni Ibiwoye’s Emergence Rekindles Elite Confidence in PDP as he obtain his nomination and expression of interest form under the People’s Democratic party today.
The last aspirant to join the governorship race in Kwara State, a renowned Lagos-based legal luminary, today officially obtained his nomination form to contest for the office of Governor of Kwara State.
Chief Olasheni Ibiwoye, SAN, arrived at the party secretariat at exactly 4:00pm amidst pomp, excitement, and a colourful display of solidarity from party faithful, supporters, and admirers.
Addressing the gathering shortly after obtaining his form, Chief Ibiwoye reaffirmed the commitment of all aspirants to the consensus agreement earlier signed by contenders within the party.
He emphasized that every aspirant had resolved to support whoever eventually emerges as the party’s flag bearer in the spirit of unity, sportsmanship, and collective progress.
He further pledged his total loyalty and unwavering support to the leader of the party , while stressing the importance of unity, reconciliation, and strategic cooperation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Although he joined the governorship race at a later stage, Chief Ibiwoye has continued to enjoy growing acceptance and increasing support among political elites and stakeholders across Kwara State.
Interestingly, despite having no posters, billboards, or aggressive media visibility across the state, influential stakeholders, respected professionals, and prominent political figures are already identifying strongly with his aspiration.
His rising popularity appears to be driven largely by credibility, competence, personal relationships, and growing confidence in his leadership capacity rather than mere publicity.
More importantly, his emergence in the race is gradually attracting several elite politicians and opinion leaders back into the PDP fold under the leadership of Dr. Bukola Saraki, thereby strengthening the party’s structure and rekindling fresh political momentum across the state.
