Party Executives, Public office holders, and grassroots political actors under the aegis of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Stakeholders and Members Forum in the Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State have declared their absolute alignment with the candidacy of Rt Honourable Salihu Yakubu Danladi as the Kwara APC gubernatorial candidate for the 2027 general election.
This development was confirmed on Thursday in a comprehensive joint communiqué declaring their alignment with the party’s current leadership direction issued at the stakeholders strategic meeting held on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at the Ifelodun LGA Contact Office in Jimba-Oja.
During the meeting, stakeholders unanimously adopted key resolutions aimed at reinforcing internal party cohesion and securing a landslide victory for the progressive fold.
Reading the Communique, the Ifelodun LGA Chairman, Hadji Femi Yusuf declared the stakeholders’ total, unreserved support and endorsement for the Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Engr. Salihu Yakubu-Danladi (SYD) as the preferred and authentic APC candidate for the upcoming Kwara State Governorship Election. The stakeholders formally affirmed the validity, credibility, and democratic sanctity of the APC Governorship Primary Election held on Friday, May 22, 2026, explicitly endorsing the declaration of Speaker Danladi as the duly elected gubernatorial flag bearer.
The communiqué similarly featured high praise for cross-constituency synergy, with the meeting expressing profound appreciation to political stakeholders across the Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun Federal Constituency on the strategic emergence of Hon. Rafiu Ajakaye as the party’s official flagbearer for his designated elective position.
The forum noted that Ajakaye’s candidacy fundamentally strengthens the structural representation, legislative voice, and political leverage of Ifelodun LGA within the federal matrix.
Furthermore, vote of confidence was passed on the Executive Governor of Kwara State and Leader of the party, His Excellency, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq CON whom the stakeholders commended for his relentless, multi-dimensional efforts in tackling insecurity across the state.
They noted that the Governor’s security interventions and proactive community-policing frameworks have yielded notable, visible improvements in peace and stability across the communities making up the Ifelodun local government territory.
Concluding the session, the progressive stakeholders completely dismissed the trending antics, propaganda, and divisive narratives being peddled by opposition parties in the state. They expressed unwavering confidence that a united, reconciled, and focused APC standing firmly behind its array of tested candidates will secure a decisive, record-breaking victory at the general polls.
